This book was written by Stephen King. This story is famous as a movie "stand by me".Main characters are Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern. One day, Vern said "You gays want to go and see a dead body?". And then they started a journey to find a dead body.
The genre of this book maybe adventure. There is no happiness and no love. They are about 12 years old and such ploblem children. They often smork and drink at their log house. They call themselves "gang". Each of kids have trouble with their family like neglects or maltreatments and it caused them to be bad. In the end of the story, they found the body. They had known that whose body it was since they started the journey. It was a boy who was as old as them and killed by Bill. Bill is Vern's brother. He had tried to hide his murder, but he found it has been known by his younger brother. He and his gang's member got angry and attacked Gordie and his three friends.
The level is 5, so it was little difficult for me.
I was dissapointed when I finished reading the book. I would not recommend if you want to read happiness story.

ReplyDeleteI love "STAND BY ME", so I wanted to read this book but I think level 5 is difficult for me, so I stopped(;;)
This story is simple but deep. I like the scene that Vern talks about his real intention to his friend at midnight.

ReplyDeleteI read the book before I enter this university for my task. The ending was not happy but it made me wanted to back to my childfood after reading it.
Stand By Me is a great movie so you should watch it if you didn't already. Anyway, sorry to hear you were disappointed at the end of the book.
